My female is a toe tapper....She has been to a holistic avian vet and a regular avian vet. I have changed her diet...now I am starting to believe hers is related to a pinched nerve associated with egg laying. Her video is ChaCha toe tapping. (Sorry it is side ways~ I don't know how to turn it and in my computer is is normal).
I have 2 Eclectus parrots Toe tapping, or more accurately, foot clenching, is the rhythmic, involuntary opening and closing of one or both feet. it is important to rule out metal toxicity, it can be in some cases.
yesssss that is toe tapping. My male eclectus had that for about 2 weeks. I started to feed him 1 egg WITH THE SHELL 2 times a week. Uaslly toe tapping is caused by lack of calcium. I scarmbled the egg with the shell. PLEASEEE dont forget to add the shell. the shell will add alot of nutrition. He snice has stopped. But 2 times a week is great for your bird!
my ekkie has had it since xmas. I think it was from having too many vits in a ready made parrot food. He is no longer on it but he still taps a little late at night as he goes to sleep. Now i think its a bit of a habbit. I hope that helps. I only feed my guy fresh fruit and veg but did give him a food that you cook for them a bit.

I've had so many parakeets since I was super little, and think that all of them have always done this. Is it a problem?
