"Journey, created in 1979, was my first choreography for a professional company. Personally, the ballet represents my transition from dancer to administrative duties and signaled the end of my dance career. The enormous success and critical acclaim which "Journey" received gave me the courage to continue as a choreographer. The work pays tribute to the strength, vitality and physical virtuosity of the male dancer. Choreographically, the ballet suggests abstractly, visions of traveling on land, sea and sky." --Salvatore Aiello

This organ concerto is very very rarely played. Pairing the organ concerto with the ballet seems to work very well as the music provides novel contrasts within itself. Many art consumers would expect an orchestra piece to accompany ballet; however, I find this very refreshing due to the unique instrumentation.
