Peristalsis. Up close and Personal with my insides. Your only first hand view of it. Food moves from one organ to the next through muscle action called peristalsis. Peristalsis looks like an ocean wave traveling through the muscle. The muscle of the organ contracts to create a narrowing and then propels the narrowed portion slowly down the length of the organ. These waves of narrowing push the food and fluid in front of them through each hollow organ.

  • the skin that you see in the videos was just donor skin from a skin graft taken off my thigh. that donor skin was just discarded when they closed me back up after about a year. the "sensation" of touch felt strange because there were no nerve endings on the donor skin. and yes it was tough to sit up but wearing an elastic binder helped alot... that wound is now fully healed

  • This is from a motorcycle accident. I was exposed like this for about a year before I underwent an extensive ventral hernia repair surgery. My surgeon had to do a component separation, separating my 3 layers of oblique muscles all the way to my back. All I have now is a 1/2" incisional scar thanks to Boston Medical Center.
