A simple guide to install a BEC to run Servos at their maximum potential. Since most internal BEC's only supply 5V and limited current, running an external BEC helps running servos at 6V or 7.4 (2S High Voltage) a breeze.

  • Where did you purchase the "y", connector?

  • @reelsworld you can find plenty at the local hobby shop

  • @reelsworld servo y connector or servo y adapter

  • Great video. Can you explain what a Bec is and what it does. thanks

  • @reelsworld BEC stands for battery eliminator circuit. Mamba moster ESC’s built-in BEC puts out 5.5V @ 5A. But under servo load sometimes it drops to 4.0V and the ESC can’t regulate the voltage fast enough to keep it constant. By using an external BEC, like the CC BEC rated @ 10A, you are making sure even under stress the servo is getting constant voltage and enough current to draw from. Using castle link you can set your voltage in increments up to 9.0V.

  • @reelsworld This way you are relieving the ESC from any other duty and only focus on controlling the throttle. Furthermore, if you look at servos specs closely, there are two ratings, one at 4.8V and one at 6.0V and if you need to get the maximum, you will have to supply 6.0V. The best and cheapest way to do that would be to run an external BEC.

  • Nice video.

  • May be dumb question. What's the proper word when trying to order one? Trying to order one off line.

  • Great vid thanks for posting
