This is another video of LeTigre's lessons. For those of you who have not watched the other videos, LeTigre is our 7 year old brindle Mustang mare, who was the lead mare in a herd of 500 horses.

Today was the first day she allowed her hind legs to be touched below the stifle area. She has also taken a liking to having the inside of her muzzle tickled/massaged. Quite funny really, but if she likes something I do, it makes building the trust and bond MUCH easier, so I do it as often as I can.




When working with a horse, especially a Mustang, you need to find something they enjoy and do it often to help them relax and make it a positive experience for them.

She's coming along really nicely. Of course a case like hers takes extra time. Going from the undisputed boss of a herd of 500 for a few years, to being the captive of a human, is such a dramatic change. She has had so much of an adjustment to make.  But she shows you respect, and her strong independent streak will make her a very lively and energetic riding horse...for experienced riders only, at first.

I have been watching your videos & I must say "great job" the end results show that you have taken your time & did things right, just enough pressure & release, you are the true alpha, they show you respect , it is nice to see someone take the time to build trust with the horse & start them with a great solid base of training.. My hat goes off to you <3 Will this mare be going up for adoption when her training is further along??

My walking horse mare likes the upper lip tickle thing too. She's looking Great and coming along nicely. What in your opinion has been the most difficult for you guys so far?
