In general, I would say that torture is immoral. But it some cases, it's ok. Let say you are in a "24" type of situation where there was an immanent threat to america. Would you torture? OF COURSE!! It would be stupid not to. Torture is not wrong if you are doing it to protect your people and you KNOW they have the information that you need. Besides...they define stupid stuff like sleep deprivation as torture. I guess my college tortured me for 6 years then.

No. A far better option would be "Informed Interrogation Approach", derived from the cumulative experiences, wisdom, & successes of operatives in the military, intelligence, & law enforcement community. The approach leverages knowledge of a detainee's mindset, vulnerabilities, & culture, together with using intelligence already known about them. The approach has been proven to work quickly & effectively, by outsmarting & manipulating the detainee.

The approach (derived from the cumulative experiences, wisdom, & successes of operatives in the military, intelligence, & law enforcement community) works by outsmarting, outwitting, and manipulating the detainee. It doesn't involve giving them tea & crumpets & playing nice :)
