  • @zviolinmissy It's not like he can't play fast, either. Listen to his last movement. The tempo is quite fast.

  • @zviolinmissy Listen to his sound production. It's quite impressive and unique. There is so much weight and articulation in his playing. Slowing down the tempo might enhance that effect. Isn't that what Shostakovich is all about? Effects?

  • Gotta say I greatly prefer Sergey Khachatryan playing it. . .there used to be a version up on youtube with RCO but I can't seem to find it anymore : (

  • @davidoistrakh I agree with you! Sergey's interpretation is the best for me so far...I think he really understands this violin concerto...
