@Jaybird1103 You're very good - Jaybird -, nice and diplomatic. I do agree with all you say. I think considering Joe has big shoes to fill he does a very good job. I met him years ago and he's a really nice guy. Only thing that really bothers me about this is the drummer. Other than that. I think they're doing alright. Cheers
Thanks for the heads-up. It just isn't the same since John Sebastian decided not to tour with the current band. I guess since his friend in the Spoonful and the Mugwumps Zal Yanovsky died that touring with Steve Boone, Joe Butler, Jerry Yester (who replaced Zal), Phil Smith, and Mike Arturi would bring back some sad memories. If you're not happy with the current Spoonful then maybe you can either hope to see John perform or buy some Spoonful CDs.
These guys shouldn't be allowed to use the name Lovin Spoonful. I saw them last night and it was a joke. I stupidly didn't do research before the show and thought John Sebastian would be singing. Really embarrassing performance. Some "highlights" a drum solo that went way too long and a medley of folk rock hits by other 60s bands. Folks, if they come to your town save your $

Joe told me about ten years ago that they did ask John to join them, but he no longer wants to play as the Spoonful.

These guys are awful. If only I had known that lead singer John Sebastian doesn't tour with them anymore.
