Prudy - Zvonte zvonky

Composed 1968, released 1969 - this is the most famous single from the Slovak Big Beat group "Prúdy" (Jets), formed in the early sixties. Prudy brought two very important protagonists of the Czechoslovak (and if there would´t be the Iron Courtain between West and East, then also European) Big Beat - Pavol Hammel (singer) and Marián Varga (keyboards). The successor band of Prúdy was the famous Collegium Musicum with Varga, Frešo and Griglák as key figures.

Today is the music from Prúdy or Collegium Musicum a precious heritage from times of tense political situation (Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968), few opportunities and great enthusiasm of young people. And also the evidence of fact, that great Big Beat or Rock´n Roll was composed also Eastern Europe...

si si isty, ze vsetci clenovia kapely su/boli slovaci? ..ja tu istotu vobec nemam.. tak nebud prosim ta jak taky nacionalisticky chuj, ok..? v 60. rokoch tu bolo ceskoslovensko. opytaj sa clenov prudov, ci boli ceskoslovenskou alebo slovenskou kapelou.. som zvedavy co by ti odpovedali..

thank you! there are many great slovak (or forme czechoslovak) groups from the sixties or seventies (also english singing), but unfortunately they had no opportunity to present themselves in the west...
