Singer Terry Mike Jeffrey is backed by Elvis' own original TCB Band and backup singers, The Sweet Inspirations and Elvis' Imperials. This show took place during Elvis Week in Memphis, TN on August 14, 2009. It was in celebration of the 40th year of Elvis' return to live performing. Elvis' original musical director, Joe Guercio, conducted the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. After the show, I told Mr. Guercio how much I love the touring production of "Elvis The Concert" and that I've been to over 20 shows since '98. He told me that he and all of Elvis' original bandmates, (except for bass guitarist Jerry Sheff), still love doing that show. I asked him if he thought there was a possibility if the show would do another U.S. tour. He said they would all would like to do another U.S. tour, but it is not as successful as it is in Europe. He suggested that all Elvis fans should constantly write to EPE to demand another U.S. tour. People really don't know what they are missing. They must not know that it is Elvis, not an impersonator, who is the star of the show. If the advertising was better, I'm sure it would be just as big as it is in Europe. Some of the shows I've been to had a big audience turnout, but there were some shows where the turnout was really weak. Again, I really think it was because of the lack of advertising. The show I went to that had the worst turnout was on October 13, 2002 when it played the Phoenix Fair in the Veteran's Memorial Coliseum. If I remember right, the floor seats were only $10 or $15, and all other seats were free with fair admission. The floor was only half full, and the free seats had barely anyone in them. I couldn't believe it. But still, the band and singers were awesome. A very good show. I flew out from Portland, Oregon just for the show as I did for shows in L.A., San Diego, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Detroit, Memphis, Las Vegas, and Hawaii. When it came to Portland on 01/27/01, I got tickets for over 30 of my friends and family to attend, who wouldn't have seen it otherwise. Even though most of them were not much of an Elvis fan, they had no clue it was going to be that great. They all grew a great respect for him. Being someone who was born after Elvis' death, these 'live' concerts have been a great part of my life. Over the years that I've traveled to see 'Elvis The Concert', I've been able to meet and talk to all of the talented band members that worked with Elvis many times. To me, I'd rather meet them than the most famous movie star in the world. I just hate to see them get older. But they still know how to rock. I enjoyed this '69 Celebration concert for the fact that Elvis' band and singers were participating, and they were better than ever, but it was nothing like "Elvis The Concert".
two of my favourite songs. FANTASTIC ! Great show I would love to see them Live I hope they tour around the world Please! Please Please !
