One of the most touchingly romantic scenes in film history. It's a classic wintertime scene...the set and Bennett's snow music create the mood beautifully. Field's following "sarcastic love song" lyrics to Kern's "A Fine Romance" song, move the plot forward....and is also an all-time classic film moment.
It has been said, that part of this dialogue is a mediation upon the timeless Astaire and Roger's partnership itself, beginning when Ginger says: "It's funny how we met....".

It's like Narnia

Why is Ginger Rogers trying to seduce Stan Laurel? Ollie will be jealous! Seriously, this is a cute scene leading into an even cuter song.

If I were Ginger, I believe I woulda just kissed Freddy right then and there! haha

oh my gosh how adorable. Great show!

@Celevive: You are right...This is just the lead-up to the song....and the song is a really smart ironic love song.

"I wanna show you where we used to fish through the ice."
"I thought you said you only came here in the summer time."
"Well I'll show you where we didn't use to fish through the ice."
....
"I think they wanna be alone!"
Such simple comedy, yet makes me laugh every time :P
