Poor man,I feel for Dr.Reed, what the hell would you do? What a horrific experience this man had to endure. I myself had an experience that shook me to my core. @odisealinker This colour change you mention seems to throw people but I can compare it with the way reptile skin changes after death. Over the years I've seen that process quite a few times, the animal either becomes very light or dark just before death then it becomes a dullish version of normal and often progresses to a kind of brown. I placed a dead Iguana in the freezer once and it went Black.

Why was he so afraid? What if it killed the dog to defend itself, what if it was scared too? Why do so many people just assume reptilians are all evil? They are beings with consciousness just like you and I, capable of good and evil actions. Look at humanity from an objective point of view and you'd think we're pretty evil creatures too.
