When strong (70+ mph) northeast winds prevail too long, the back bay water rises and can not go back out.... not uncommon, in Ocean City. This was yesterday 5/12/08. Hi, Natasha, Now that's what I call thinking! Here, as soon as the North Easterly winds let up, the water all returns to the bay and then to the tide march..LOL...it only happens this badly when we get a storm called a Nor'easter.. although a huge pump sounds great!!! Love, Pat
