Apexi active tail silencer with HKS Hi-Power exhaust on RX-8

Well, my Hi-Power HKS exhaust sounded like rice, and was so friggin' loud I wanted to toss it. Instead of doing that, I bought the apexi active tail silencer, which is a silencer that has a plunger type system that is spring loaded. When your engine pushes a lot of exhaust gasses, the exhaust opens up and acts like there's no silencer in place. Basically you get a normal sounding car till you floor it. Or at least that's what's supposed to happen

it works! I think its better than borla. but I dont understand what could be the purpose for silencing such an awesum RX8 ?!?! if it was up to me/if I were u, I wouldnt silence it....rotaries r generally quieter than piston motors & I would definitely show off n want people to notice me n my ride if its an awesome sports car, the RX8

howd u manage to make it hit into an hks hi power? Correct me if im wrong but the hi power exhaust tip has 97 mm diameter while the silencer was made for 90 mm...soooooo did u just stick it in there anyways? (thats what she said) and if so is it loose?

most silencers take away about 7dBs at most, and that IS a lot.. remember 93dB vs 86dB is not an 8% reduction in volume, its a logarithmic scale. Regardless, tunable silencers are usually 1dB to 6dB reduction, and auto silencers are less than 5dB reduction.
