Near the end of his wits in grief, Tanner hears Katie whisper, "Go home to Savannah." Reluctant to deepen his wounds, he returns to a city cloaked in more sadness than when he left. Jennifer Dekorah Lee's haunting composition, "Savannah Why", reflects Tanner's turmoil and abject poverty. . . still unable to discern what Katie wants.

Savannah Why © 2012 lyrics & music Jennifer Dekorah Lee
Do you Remember
Our Affection?
Do you Remember
All our Lives?
You thought Id move on
That Id forget
But Im still here
In your Silence, Oh.
Summers ending
In Savannah
And all I hear
Are the Voices of the Past
Why did you bring me
Back to Savannah
And all I see
Are the Shadows of your Face
All of our Lives
They disengaged
You re-defined me after all
Moving away from Illusion
Embracing the Truth, at my feet
At my feet
Savannah, Why?
Savannah, Why?
The Open Door
Now I see
So why Cant I
Just leave this all Behind?
hiya Jimmy - Just stopped by to watch this again :-)
