Hope you're all getting a chance to rest and recharge this weekend. Those of you who are already members of our VERY special, ULTRA exclusive club (okay, Facebook like page https://www.facebook.com/GoodEnoughMotherPage) know I'm in Dallas for a couple of days http://www.goodenoughmother.com/2011/11/where-in-the-world-is-good-enough-mot... but on my way to Indianapolis for a quick, but equally important side trip http://www.goodenoughmother.com/2011/11/where-in-the-world-is-good-enough-mot.... So I wanted to check in because I've got something new for you here on the site.

We're living in some really tough times and not only are people trying to just survive, they also want to know how to THRIVE, especially when the conditions are less than ideal. So I'm presenting what I call GEM Truths, based on the series of speeches http://www.goodenoughmother.com/how-to-book-rene/ I give around the country. So I thought I would share them with you as well.

So take a moment, before everyone start pulling you in 30, different directions, to watch my GEM Truths and, as Good Enough Mothering is a collaborative experience, g ahead and add a few of your own. What did you find that really helped you during those hard times? Lemme hear ya!

  • I'm hanging....what you've said resonates with me so strong because hitting rock bottom is...i don't have a word to describe it. I do know it is caused me to examine all areas in my life at 31.

  • @curVature30 right. I so understand that. Check out a book by Seth Godin called The Dip. It's very short, you can read in a day. But really embrace what he says about leaning INTO the wind! It's so fitting for this.. :)

  • Thank you

  • @curVature30 Aww, of course! It's hard to see it for what it is sometimes, which is like a crash course in learning. Hang in.. you'll be great!

  • @curVature30 you know the other thing.. and it's a tiny bit frightening.. is that this might not be the last time you have to reinvent yourself. As hard as it is, we have to get comfortable with change; it truly is the only constant in life :)

  • @tvmommy: you are right. Change means evolving, but we can't be so afraid to the point where we don't make moves, right?

  • THANK YOU 4 KEEPING/SHARING GEM :D

  • Rene, I absolutely LUV ur GEM Truth...ThkUsoMuch! It is an xcellent quote for my journal section entitled, 'Someone Said!" Years ago, this one really helped me:

"I cannot be, wish for, or change any individual; unless I am that individual"...

  • @theinnercreative yes and it NEVER goes out of style, LOL. So glad to hear you talk about depleting yourself. A lot of women assume they have to run themselves into the ground; that that's what being a good mother is. Nothing could be further from the truth. Be well!

  • Ok, will do
