This is true, Buddhism is not a religion but a science of the mind. It is moot to ask if a Buddhist believes in God.

The Supreme Way is not difficult. If only you do not pick and choose. When you see the Buddha, Kill the Buddha. A bag of skin wrapped up in an embroidered kesa is still just a bag of skin wrapped up in an embroidered kesa. This question is pretty much one of the ten questions the Buddha would not answer. But you will answer it for us? May your life go well. Gassho.

A special transmission outside the scriptures,
Not founded upon words and letters. By pointing directly to [one's] mind, It lets one see into [one's own true] nature and [thus] attain Buddhahood.

The law of karma is simply stated in Buddhist scripture and is summarized in this simple statement:
“Each person must reap what he has sown.” When you strike another in the face, you have sown a seed, and it grows, and in time, the harvest comes; and you will be struck in the face. Thus, the doer of good and the doer of evil always reap what they have sown.It has nothing to do with a wrathful so called God.

The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend personal God and avoid dogma and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description. If there is any religion that could cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism.

In Buddhism the sole aim of spiritual practice is the complete alleviation of stress in samsara, called nirvana. The Buddha explicitly rejects a creator, denies endorsing any views on creation and states that questions on the origin of the world are worthless.
