It's an amazing place Shetland it has the lowest unemployment rate in Scotland!!! It also has so many chances for young ones to do sports and music!! The wildlife brings lots of tourists and up helly aa which If you saw would be amazed at how good it is! Waiting for a job is not long, longest I've ever had to wait is 3 weeks to hear back!! fiddle and accordion festival is great time and so is our inter county!! It was said at beginning of 2012 it's the number 1 place to live in the United King

I never been to Shetland ,but i i would love to visit this beautifull island.
as a norwegian i feel strong sense of pride over the viking ancestry on Shetland, after all it have always had strong bonds to Norway:-)

@kramnodd9 Sorry, just realised that you looked up the place on google street view cause we all know that sitting on your arse and looking at a place through a map on a computer really gives you a feel for a place. Here is an idea get off your bum and actually visit.

@kramnodd9 *SHETLAND, Obviously has a better education. It has, hills, trees, lochs, castles, brochs, beaches. Maybe you should look up a place before you try and make an ignorant judgement on a place.

i live in Shetland, i was born in Shetland, and im glad to be a shetlander. Shetland is the most amazing place to me, i will never leave the Shetland Islands.
