Lovely car although you wouldn't catch a UK manufacturer calling any car "Essex" these days!

Perfect interior. Are these 80's Lotuses hard to maintain engine wise?(pre- 1988?)

remember being driven in a Essex Esprit at 160mph on local(private) road in East Horsley ,what a fab car back in the early 80;s.This car was looked after by local garage Bell & Colvill.

The Essex Esprit differs on a few things with the reagular turbo. First of all the Essex Turbos were all dry sump turbos. The first stock Turbo Esprits were like it, but Lotus later changed it to wet sump. The rims on the Essex were changed from Compomotive to BBS/Mahle. The regular Turbo esprit has no roof mounted stereo.
I can post a video of my 1985 Turbo Esprit to see the differences if wanted.

What a majestic car the Esprit is. Its got every bit of the "wow" factor as anything from Italy and are usually way more rare to boot. Just excellent!

I really love the jag that rolled by! my dad rebuilt a 63' type E, the one in the vid looks like a 2+2 could be wrong. Im sorry but the elise is a horrible car lol

So fuckin beautiful! too bad for the sidemarkers, totally out of question

My friend owns a Delorean. It has very similar design cues, since Lotus did the engineering for Delorean. Also uses the same frame as the Esprit.
i think there are two. i think i have found one, and a picture! look @ my background, on my channel, its next to an esprit and another car, its red, i think its the same. good video, though!

@pr3par32die That's a Turbo Esprit (or so I think) but it's not the Essex Edition. The Essex only came with this livery, so it can't be the Essex if it's red. I don't know the difference between the regular Turbo Esprit and the Essex Edition (besides the price, I know the regular Turbo was cheaper), but both are pretty cool
