  • Funny thing is that Mary J. Blige recieved the same criticisms for her voice and singing from the soul, and they both are winning grammys and trailblazing nonstop. People are gonna talk weather u do bad or good they will ALWAYS CREATE a reason to hate.

  • WHEN am I getting a studio version of this?! It's so beautiful!

  • A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

  • love her love it love her!

  • @MrRufflez I was defending Miss Queen Keys!

  • those of you critiquing her voice need to stop nd jus enjoy the fucking music and talent of THEE Alicia Keys.

  • 1:24 oops.

  • @inasexymood In Songs In A-minor her voice was very light not really chipmunkilike to me. She had a very bright quality to her voice during that era and she demonstrated more resonance during that era. Just because her voice was light doesn't mean it wasn't powerful because she resonated a lot during that time and power comes from resonance. I liked the deep tone that she had during T.D.O.A.K. and As I Am. She doesn't sound thin when sings softly, only when she belts above D5. She's a contralto.

  • @ThePianoguy89 ugh, let's not with christina... her technique has been killing her voice for years.

songs in a minor were the chipmunk days, her voice matured and got deeper on diary, as i am definitely showed that she had some vocal training, even tho no one etc weren't doing her voice any good... this era, when alicia tries subtle, she sounds very thin. it's really a shame. but when she keeps it at a comfortable to loud range/volume, her tone is really nice.

  • @inasexymood I really love her voice for that. I love the raspiness and roughness of her voice. Her voice can be sweet and gentle, but she lost the power from the voice that she used to have. She may need to retrain her voice to where it was in her debut era, but she still has a beautiful tone/timbre. She can get away with being off because of her tone. She definitely uses her voice better than Christina Aguilera, that's for sure. Christina's technique is very deficient.
