The Public House, a symbol of British society and life style. Serving ale and good times to the community for several centuries, however in recent years The Pub has hit problems. Supermarkets now selling alcohol at huge discounts, people generally have less money to spend, the government increasing tax and bureaucracy on the pub industry, so what are pubs doing to avert closure?

This documentary examines what problems pubs are facing and what they are doing to avert closure.

Filmed at The Bottle of Sack in Sutton Coldfield and The Wellington in Birmingham City Centre. This is a I film made for a Film Making HND I took at Worcester University.

  • I worked in the Bottle when I went to uni. Memories...

  • @JohannMint It's a small world, I still work at the Bottle. When did you finish working there?
