This is my performance of my transcription of Song of the Wind off the album Caravanserai. It's actually played by Neal Schon, who never got any credit for it.

  • very nice. where did you get the backing track?

  • @joenormal1 guitarbt.com..great website.

  • What about the version on Viva Santana - that is an even better version than the original and that was played by Carlos from a 1977 concert in Paris when Neil was not even in the band.

  • @tram84mvp

thank you, but to many Santana afficionados, there is no greater song ..

  • you're taken from this piece..I understand because It is the same for me!

great sound but a lot distortion...It's fundamental for me also the album love, devotion and surrender:have you played piecies from it?

  • @pietroanania , Thank you so much, I do appreciate the careful listening ! I bought Love Devotion and surrender a long time ago, thanks for reminding me.. I have to listen to it again. I remember I didn't think Santana was as good on that album as he was on this song, which is, to me, his most superlative.

  • Is it me, or is this all out of time with the backing track?

  • If your looking for another fantastic guitar song from Santana you should listen to "song for devadip" from his "Oneness" album recorded in 1979

  • what does it matter who played Niel or Carlos anyone who likes this period of Santana work know full well its was the complete band i believe Mike Shrieve,s got Santana into Jazz. The entire band put this sound together. The percussion, drumming keyboards guitar work just brilliant and sounds like one extremely successful jam session. Rolie, Shrieves, Niel,Schon, Rutley, Carlos thanks great tune,

your covers not to bad either

  • amazing
