@CyanideFilledCandy In both cases, yes, the references to the male divine force were added later. The original lyrics to WACFG were: "We all come from the Goddess,/and to Her we shall return,/like a drop of rain/flowing to the ocean." There's actually a video somewhere on youtube where Z explains how the song came about, and then sings it. The "Goddess Chant," I'm guessing, is the one that begins "Isis, Astarte, Diana, Hekate, Demeter, Kali?" If it's different, let me know, please! :)

@onyxdubh Oh? Well, I found a page that had verses to the Goddess AND the God. "We All Come From the Goddess" was one, and the "Goddess Chant" another.

Like in WACFTG, there was a part that was like "We all come from the Horned One, and to him we shall return; Like a flash of light, shining through the fiery skies."

IDK.....maybe the God parts were added later? :/

@CyanideFilledCandy I'm curious which chants you're referring to that honour a male god in the original but had those lines removed. The most specific example I could come up with was We All Come From the Goddess, which did not originally contain any words referring to a male deity at all. The verse that begins "Hoof and horn" was added later by someone other than Z. Budapest, who originally wrote the song.

@echo13moon I noticed most people do. Like most chants that you find are about the Goddess, but I looked up the original chants and nearly all of them had verses to the God too. I believe in keeping balance.

I think this stems from males being so predominant in most religions, though.
