Atlas sits, stays, lays down, heels and catches his frisbee. Spending time together daily, Atlas has learned over 30 words and commands. Atlas loves people, hiking on the Appalachian Trail and visits to the Home Depot where he is the store mascot - replete with apron, forklift license and award patches! Atlas was adopted from an animal shelter and encourages humans to help shelter animals in need - adopt!

  • Adorable! Good Job! :>)

  • @wildlifeguardian Thank you so much! Your bird rescue is commendable! I have wanted to rescue smaller birds from the shelter, but would like to build a big enough cage so that they can fly and have somewhat normal behavior, while still keeping the house clean - a work in progress. If you search "Atlas the Pomeranian" or look at other GreatWriteUp videos, you will see Atlas hiking on the Appalachian Trail in New Hampshire or catching his frisbee. He's a fun guy to have around!

  • when did you guys start training him?

  • @meimeixoxxo @meimeixoxxo I started training Atlas when I brought him back from the Wicomico County Shelter, at eight weeks old. He learned quickly, as I would tell him to do things that he was going to do anyway. This approach helped him get confidence that he could succeed, and the repetition helped our communication and his interest in learning - which is VERY important for doing more advance skills or working with distractions (other dogs, people walking by, etc).

  • Saw you guys on the local news! He's a cute dog... Be safe out there!!

  • Thank you for the kind words! Boof!
