I closed off my set at the 2006 National Chapman Stick Festival in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with this improvisation.

Thanks to Tom Osburn for shooting the performance

  • Thanks very much, amospop

  • @gregplaysthestick but please do tell me what kind of guitar are you using

  • @amosppp It's called the Chapman Stick, or sometimes just The Stick. And the playing method on which it's based, with both hands tapping in parallel is called Free Hands. Both were invented by Emmett Chapman. He still makes the instruments in Los Angeles. Thanks for the interest.

  • Thanks for all the kind comments, everyone! I'll try to get more up soon.

  • I am at a loss for words, but i think WOW will work

  • Fantastic energy. Love it!

  • One of my favorite players :) Keep em coming!

  • 3 words BIG BRASS BALLS!

  • i think that your stick has become another limb on your musical body (perhaps sentient)

  • Unreal. Hey Greg, what are you using for distortion on the melody side around and after5:50? Truly inspiring. -Tenstings.

  • That's phenomenal improvisation.
