Lloyd Mulder Manager of Parts Source and a mechanic for over 47 years, talks to inventor Trevor Bryant about the SparkPlug Sensor. Lloyd finds it hard to believe that with this tool, you can know immediately if the plug fires inside the cylinder and under compression while the motor is running! At the end Lloyd says "OK if that tool can tell me if the plug fired inside the cylinder then you've got something there."

  • don't believe this is true,it's a pack of lies. You cant buy it anywhere and even from their own website. If you know where u can buy one today tell me and everyone else

  • Powerman's comments are in direct contradiction of your claims that your tool can identify that spark is occurring INSIDE THE CYLINDER. If you can provide a better explanation than Powerman, I am waiting.

  • Hi poppies, I would like to jump in. The reason that your comments are being deleted is that you are accusing this device of being a scam. Because it may or may not work in the way that YOU want it to work doesn't mean that it is a SCAM. Your screenshot will only show that Powerman is explaining that the tool does what it is designed to do and that you are being unreasonable and aggressive. It's a good "go-to" tool to direct your troubleshooting, not to solve every motor's unique problems.

  • Its too late Powerman, your partner in crime has deleted my comments but I have it all captured on screenshot, your tool is a SCAM.

  • With the engine at idle you will have a steady timing of the flash pattern of the LEDs much like a mentronome would be used in music. High voltage that jumps from wire to wire will cause false readings due to "cross fire". This is noticed by the flash pattern being much faster than the rest of your spark plugs when they are read because you are technically reading more than one spark plug on a single wire.

  • CAN YOUR TOOL PINPOINT where this spark is occurring. Yes or no.

  • well yes, it helps to cast more doubt. respectfully, if the engine is running roughly, and the ignition system is suspected as the culprit, we need to not only verify that there is a charge of electricity passing through the sparkplug wire, but that it is reaching the plug gap. i have seen the charge of electricity jumping the gap from the plug boot to the cylinder head on the outside of the engine, or from wire to wire, darkness permitting. Convince me your tool directly addresses this.

  • I remember Steve Earl! His music is great! No snake oil here. No promises for rain, no sick are healed ... just a hand held tool that does what is claimed it will do, and does it very well! Every time! No guess work required.

HOWEVER - I will say this, engines that use diesel fuel use glow plugs, not spark plugs. This hand held tool is not designed to work with diesel engines.

  • The Sparkplug SENSOR performs exactly as stated. It does work good. Very good! It's a simple hand held tool with a defined purpose. No conspiracy theories here - only actual working hand held tools used to film these videos. (And ya, I am skeptical about the 300 MPG carb and the magnetic alignment idea. You can add the "Tornado" to that list too - the spinning blade thing that goes in the snorkel of the air intake!)

  • Great observation! Spark is spark regardless of where it occurs. But if it occurs outside the cylinder the engine will run rough, right? As you likely know, a carbon path is a partial conductor (or a semi-conductor) and will not allow a solid spark to occur everytime. This will show up as a misfiring spark plug according to the 2 LEDs on the Sparkplug SENSOR.

    Hope this helps!
