You are right to be angry, you do pay too much tax. You must have been very frustrated that the super rich are paying less and less tax every year and the burden is being placed on the middle class. You must also be frustrated that in any other country you would be paying about 40% in tax but getting no premium high quality health care with a choice of doctor, no pre-existing etc etc. Your latte will not go up in price unless you buy latte's in France.

Teacher: Who ever told you that paying tax in France gets you more in France than here in the USA has been sipping too much French Bordeaux! France is one of the worst examples of government bureaucracy in the developed world. Their true taxation rates (combined federal/state/local) according to the United Nations is 46.1% in France versus the USA rate of 28.2%. You can pay the 46.1% and move to France. I will stick right here in the USA and pay 28.2% and buy my own health care coverage!
