Our class was tasked with redesigning the existing Union Station in downtown LA from the train to the trashcans.
The individual projects were designed according to a style sheet that we developed. The projects were modeled in SolidWorks and rendered in Hypershot. The architecture was modeled in Google Sketchup and "mockup" versions of the individual projects were placed in the model. Then the fly through was rendered from Sketchup, the tour was screen captured form Google Earth, and finally it was all put together with music and titles in iMovie.

@Spokker The plan was always to build the high speed rail platforms over the existing ones.

They will not be building a double deck station at Union Station. They will most likely be reconfiguring and adding to the existing track footprint.

California will actually be buying existing high speed trains from either Germany or Japan. . . but why model something that already exists? This one looks much cooler.
