Building the 1/48 Mossi: It is a nicely detailed kit with many options and movable parts, but definetively not for beginners: the cockpit hardly fits into the fuselage, and the undercarriage and the nacelles are designed to make a modeller go mad! The cockpit, bomb bay and undercarriage are well detailed, the engines less (I did not go for this option). Ailerons, flaps, rudder, wheels and propeller are movable.
Build for fun and the model contest of BasicModelling.

  • on 0:15 are you totally right crew member?

  • @TheSuperNova335 ;-))) no, only my head...

  • Hey im going to get this kit from the mail in just a few days. Any seggestions on what I should fix, look out for ec.t?

    oh and nice build :)

  • @kf103 The most difficult parts are the nacelles and the landing gear, and the decals are bit shiny. Have fun building it!

  • @BaronKrolok

Hi, Got this in my stash, will start in a week or so. Looks good, I too will build the day camo scheme.

Have you tried a gloss-coat before decals to avoid silvering?

    I use plasti-kote clear enamel B26

Then a matt overcoat when all finished

Also I remove large transparent areas from decals with a scalpel.

I like the motorised engine, I am considering this, do you know if the Airfix motors will fit the nacelles? and is there room for a battery in the rear fuselage?

    regards

    Carlos

  • @carlosdfc I use a semi-glossy acrylic finish- which in this case was not sufficient. The rear fuselage will offer enough space, but the nacelles will not. The engines were not motorized, I simply blew them;-))))

  • Very nice video of an VERY NICE airplane!

Looks very, very good, the only thing i disliked is the "flash" on the decals.

But thats not your fauld, i'm always fighting against it to.

And you hit me right in the hart with that music, i love it! xD

    5*****, realy worth watching

  • 0:05 Arrrgh!

Moveable parts are a big + Great prop action :)

Love the shape as it comes together. I beleive my grandad maintained this exact plane in Wunstorf near the end of 1945 (I'll upload a picture at some point).

I am busy making a flying F4F model, too late for the competition but looking good ;)

  • I made the same model!!! (i think) is it revelll

  • Amazing,,,, thanks,,

  • Amazing Model!! Nice work!

  • The famous D.H.98 Mosquito was initially envisaged a 1000 pound bombload, but ended up having a 4000 pound load! It`s empty weight (M.E.W.) was 13.356 lbs. It`s lesser known contemporary adversary was the Focke-Wulf Ta 154 also made of wood. It`s empty weight was 15.000 pounds. Did you know that both these aeroplanes actually came glued together..just like us modellers do it! Mostly the glues would hold the airframes together, but there were some minor issues with both types ;-)

  • Turned out a good build thanks to your skill and "patience" well done Thanks for showing us .

  • Also the Dakota Norway

  • Hey i got the same model but its 1/24 and the DC-3 at the start ive been in it :D

  • That's an impressive build, but.... to me, the windscreen panels look completely the wrong shape - too deep. And, the blue in the roundels isn't dark enough.
