Lucky to be the first to comment (after nearly 5 months of this posting), luckier to have heard him play this on Erhu.
This young gentleman is incredibly technical and well-footed in the interpretation of this piece. Some more stage experience and maturity will greatly enhance his virtuosity. Great future ahead, even on Erhu.

While an undisputed technical accomplishment, in absolute terms this interpretation leaves much to be desired, both in terms of execution and poor instrument tone. He's no Heifetz. A valiant effort, but a curiosity at best.

yes sun huang's one is also good.
but then yu chuan was the one who arranged the piece for the erhu, so it's good to hear the original interpretation. and yu chuan played the entire piece, whereas sun huang did an excerpt.
sadly, yu chuan was too nervous.
