@strawberrykiwi20a people with dyslexia have have a very creative mind. I have a friend who has dyslexia, he writes awkwardly, cant be bothered to do his work (even though he gets ALOT of help from the specialist teachers) and is very bad at art. He says he loves drama, but ive never seen him act. He sometimes has a bad atitude against people. I really hope the best for him but with a bad attitude and the way he put his effort into his work, he might not go anywhere :(
I think I'm dyslexic. I'm 15 and I'm so slow when it comes to reading and it takes me a long time to figure out what a sentence means. When I'm talking I always mix up sounds and say things like, "The roy ban," instead of, "The boy ran." Then people laugh at me :( I write the wrong letters down even though I know how to spell words. I hate group activities because everyone always finishes their part before me. At least I'm good at art, though =)

@strawberrykiwi20a To be official you need an assessment that finds out your learning strengths and weaknesses but everything you describe is typical of dyslexia so yes you are right. Make sure you follow your creative strengths and you will end up being better than the kids that are laughing at you now.

hey are you considered dyslexic if you some times combine words when your writing them ( ex. "with" and "the" turn in to "withe" ). or when you write out your full name and you write your first or last name twice ?

@MrSanty542 It is very common for dyslexics to add an 'e' to the end of words, especially 'with'. Sometimes the wrong pattern of letters gets stuck in your head. This could be a specific difficulty with visual memory for letter symbols, causing the jumbling or adding on of extra letters - strangely, visual memory for pictures is often very good.

dyslexia along with hundreds maybe thousands of disorders and diseases that are mental are not as big a deal as scientists make you think. They are simply have to do with your want to do something or your will.

@crazymonk3y765 It's true that with determination you can overcome almost anything but dyslexia can be a very big deal. I know a guy who's wife walked out, taking their kids, because she was so frustrated with his forgetfulness and disorganisation - he can't help being dyslexic. I've helping a 15 year old who was kicked out of school and in trouble with police - he can't read or write a thing because he's got the deepest dyslexia I've ever come across.
