An experiment on polishing marble(Bianco Carrara) using orbital sander and diamond polishing sheet

Since orbital sander do not have water feeding structure, surface of the marble tend to lack water. Most of the wet polisher feed water from center of the pad.

If I can do something with this water feeding or can use the diamond sheet for dry use, I might be able to achieve more high gloss near 100.

This time, highest gloss was 86, lowest was around 76.
I suppose we need more water to finish evenly.

  • @antiolg thanks for your comment. I've done this demo by 6000 rpm.

The orbital sander used in this demo is "RYOBI RSE-1250"

  • nice!, great experiment. how fast do you go [rpms] when polishing?
