Training competition heelwork

Along with my lovely assistant, Tess, this is my not-so-brilliant effort at demonstrating how I teach obedience heelwork to my dogs. I left out some things I should have mentioned; primarily that you don't need to keep your hand out like an idiot for too long, once you are moving, you can bring it down. And I start this exercise indoors, for minimum distractions.
My demo dog (Tess) is still working on this skill, so a bit sloppy in places.

This is really amazing. I was taught the old choke collar way, and this is beautiful to watch the interaction between you both. No coercion, no negatives... the dog is happy and you are extremely patient. :) Nice job! Thank you for sharing this with everyone.

that was fantastic, I really needed this video, my staffy is very timid while heeling an she wont watch, she keeps her head low and looks down. So I will try to take it slow and make watch more rewarding. TY for the advice.
