@hollywearsprada come of it. Every year at the oscars, its always the same group of actors that always get invited. Yes sure Meryl get snubbed now and again but so does the other elite actors.

I am not basing my opinions on any rumours. Its just based on simple common sense.

@Nuron666 Hahaha that is SUCH bullshit. In fact, Meryl gets treated the exact OPPOSITE. She makes amazing film after amazing film and gets snubbed for an Oscar. You don't know what you're talking about, you actually don't. If you ever looked at the facts instead of basing your opinion on heresay and rumour, you would know.

@hollywearsprada look I am not saying Meryl is a rubbish actor. I am just saying that the same elite group i.e Meryl Streep, Tom Cruise, Jack Nicolson and other actors, that always seem to get to be on all the major top hollywood movies and they always end up with one these awards you mentioned.

Its an elitist club. Once your in that club, it doesnt matter if these elite group of actors make a rubbish film, they will always end up with an award.

@Nuron666 I don't get what you're talking about. You said what's the big deal, I said she's amazing and now you're talking about luck. If she was 30, I could see your point. But she's had a career spanning over 40 years; I think we're past being in the right place at the right time now. Maybe when she was 27 working on Broadway and Bob DeNiro happened to see her and cast her in The Deer Hunter, but now her own talent makes her luck. She's an acting legend. THAT is the big deal.

There are millions of wannabe actors out there. Most of them are probably talented. Only a small few ever make it to the big times.

Its all about who you know and being in the right place at the right time. Thats what its all about.

@Nuron666 I'm pretty sure her astounding talent has something to do with it. She didn't just wake up one morning, stumble into Hollywood and suddenly have 2 Oscars, 7 Golden Globes, 1 BAFTA, 2 Emmys, 2 SAGs and an AFI Lifetime Acheivement award, did she?
