Single payer, universal health insurance is the only real solution to the health care crisis. The principles of single payer are presented in this video which is hosted by Senator Mark Leno and narrated by Elliott Gould. The video explains how single payer works, what it covers, and how it will be financed. It also shows how you can join the California OneCare Campaign, a statewide grassroots effort to pass SB 810, the single payer bill in California. The video is presented by Health Care for AllCalifornia, a non-profit, non-partisan grassroots organization.

  • Work until you die slaves----Isnt that what the master says to his slaves-----Corporate greed is rampant in the health care buisness---It is health care for profit----Not a public service----Time to stand up and get rid opf the Corp-a-ROT--cracy

  • Ly 'em out!

Take your own advice before you dish it out. Not every country has a Government Run Healthcare System where the Public Sector owns the hospitals and the Health Insurance. Which is my whole point and I could lay those countries out for you if you want. A lot of countries have Public- Private Healthcare Systems.

  • @caonecare That is exactly right. In my lifetime I have lived for very long periods in Germany, France, the UK, Canada and Spain. I am an American citizen now living in British Columbia because I have comprehensive health care here. I am prevented from going home by being unable (and unwilling) to pay upwards of $2000+ monthly ( I am 67) forget other services like: drugs, long term care, Physiotherapy, homeopathy, acupuncture, and on and on... Dentistry? Forget it! ,

Get informed. All of the rest of the industrial developed world have a national single payer system. Non of these ditate who you can and cannot see. Think about: who in hell would a agree to that? Saying that's the case is fear-mongering.

  • For every California resident? This should be for every California CITIZEN!

  • I look forward to the passage of SB 810, when everybody will have freedom of choice in health care, meaning everybody will be able to choose which doctor to go to instead of being limited to the ones their insurance company deals with. I have the just about the best coverage there is at Kaiser but with SB 810 I would have dental coverage as well, which I don't have now. This will be a win for everybody except insurance company executives.

  • @sarsanch

Freedom of Choice, goes without saying a simple concept. The Freedom to Choose a popular value in a Liberal Democracy like America. I realize its not a popular concept with socialists. And perhaps thats why your having trouble grasping it. Are you high, you really think I would release my Insurance Records as a Private Citizen on YouTube? With the Affordable Care Act, the insurance abuses your talking about will become illegal.

  • @FRSFreeStateES Well you should be more specific on Freedom of Choice and how much do you pay to your Health Insurance because if you have the money then you can afford anything, any health plan but be careful if you ever need their services they might exclude you from having it and they will tell you that they don't know you as a member and never hear about you! and if you are not a member of a Union you'll need a Lawyer.

  • @sarsanch

LOL thanks for the laugh, uh yeah I do have Freedom of Choice with my Health Care right now like a lot of other americans. What's Freedom of Choice, well Freedom of Choice. You answered your own question. The ability for one to decide for themselves where they get their services and from whom. Instead of government deciding for them.
