  • Only the best figure skater of all time! (Flame away. This is my opinion!)

  • There is nobody like Janet Lynn and never will be. She was one in a billion.

She is so beloved by the Japanese, they travel to her home and photograph it, hoping to meet her.

They do this in homage to her, remembering once in their country when she took a fall, and sat there smiling!

They have adored her ever since.

  • She is still, such an inspiration to me.....someone who follows what they loved...it is truly what god wants you to do.....she is such a love of mine!

  • when I was a LITTLE kid, I skated at the Wagon Wheel, and used to see Janet Lynn now and then. She was always very nice. She skates as one with the music, not just with music in the background as so many do these days.... truly a special skater.

  • Oops, I mean 3. Though if adding a 4th, it may be Fleming.

  • Lynn, Henie, Kwan are the 4 most purely talented skaters ever. Today's crop can do the jumps, but look like amateurs in artistic elements of the skate.

  • @silmalila

Thanks for the kind response. You never know what you are going to get when you comment on YouTube or the Web. These old videos of JL are what first brought me to YT many years ago. When watching the "next" current group of skaters, I, along with all of the rest, am "wowed" by the jumps and tricks. But when it comes to pure skating, athleticism, grace, poise, and beauty, JL outclasses them all. Wish I could have seen her skate live...

  • @silmalila I have nothing against Janet.I adore her.Where do you get that idea?Things may have been very different if she had not fallen down. She would have gotten second and not be famous for falling and smiling.

  • @pamurchu As you can see, nobody has flamed you for this opinion. I think most of

us here (with one exception) agree that Janet was an amazing skater.

  • @dreed007 ...And Michelle too, don't you think?

  • @HattieLovesCattie What do you have against Janet? She was both a lovely skater and a lovely person.

  • @silmalila How do they find her home?I read she moved a lot.Not sure where she lives now?I wonder if Janet had finished second and not fallen, would she be so loved in Japan?
