The Roma really are a special people... I'm a Jew, and I grew up hearing about all the hardships Jews have faced- and really the Roma have not only faced really as much, they've often faced it alongside the Jews. Especially from where my family emmigrated from, the Austria-Germany and Poland-Russia area; all those years of getting persecuted together, and the Holocaust to cap it off.

But they never give up...

(Out of curiosity is "gypsy" derogatory, like "kike" for us, or is it ok?)

my question would be - how come when they left for europe 1.000 years ago, they haven't learnt to live among us yet...? ...why do all - and i mean all the people that came accros gypises - think of gypsies as thiefs, burglars, criminals, rapists etc....? ...i have lived outside of my native country for many years and in different countries - and i always had to respect different traditions and laws... ...why can't they after 1.000 years...?

@obiwanobiwan13 Gypsy is fine. That's what I call myself. Gypsies do not ever really say roma. They usually use the word for gypsy in the gypsy language, which I can't spell, no one can lol.

Its not our decision what ppl think about Romania and if they mix up with our name Rromani to country called Romania, its ppl own ignorance towards Romania and Rromanis, i dont know what Romania means in Romanian language but Rromani means in our language Human/men.

To understunt the situation in Romania better one must search the history lil bit; 500years slavery, nazi allye, nazi president who allowed 80thousand our children into nazi genetic studies, some were jews, armenian children aswell.
