You believe that independent studies by small communities of instructors and students would yield the same kind of curative results as a massively funded government-subsidized research program? Honestly, I don't know how effective such university research can be. I've heard of studies by prestigious colleges but my assumption is that it's still a small scale operation.

No form of government lasts forever. Communism, although in theory sound fuckin fantastic, is an evil front. I havent really listened to all the Zeitgeist shit. Ive heard of it, had my brother tell me about some, and Im confident its propoganda bullshit with just enough truth in it to twist shit up. I cant stand propoganda on any front, even on stands I make myself. democracy is a beautiful thing. Freedom of choice, impairitive. How can we assure true democracy though, When men can be bought? v

I realize this comes down to a debate over the the virtues of Libertarianism (and honestly, I don't know enough about pure libertarianism to debate).

If the government was not around to sponsor charities that are unpopular or can't afford large PR campaigns (yes, that's exactly where billions of charity dollars would be channeled) what would happen to AIDS and other charities that you and your brethren may not condone but are agreed world wide as a vital focus for research?

Socialism and communism are NOT the same thing. They are both on the Political-Economic spectrums (along with capitalism and fascism) and communism is on an extreme edge. Similar but different.

All governments distribute wealth and resources as they see fit. What are American taxes? US Imminent domain?
