I have been looking through old analog videos to see if there are any of interest to others and then reprocessing them to a digital format.. I think this one of a model G estate version should interest other microcar and especially Bond Minicar fans! This occured in 1994. There are very few vehicles where the engine is designed to turn with the steering! Because of that feature the car can rotate within its own length.

  • Nice car, i have see one of this cars live - very funny!

  • @Bidone1967 Funny peculiar as some would say!

  • I knew and loved this Car!

A nautical feel to drive- like being at sea on a small boat in slightly rough seas- point the willing vessel in the right direction and with a healthy roar the little power unit pulls you along there.

At a moments notice, the unique steering propels you completely about face- without recourse to its reverse gear.

It is of course able to start the engine in reverse using the "siba dynastart"- and so may progress through all its gears in a reverse direction.

    Wow!

  • @SingerDriver Wonderful! I remember the Bond sales Reps used to use them to tour the country on their promotion business. That is dedication!

  • Back in the sixties I used to drive one of these. If the starter didn't work I would open the bonnet and stamp on the kickstart! Onlookers though I was trashing the engine! I drove it on a motor cycle licence until I passed my proper driving test and had a lot of fun and adventures with it. Thanks for posting this and bringing back happy memories.

  • @108Robcatt My first car was a Meserschmitt bubblecar which I drove with my motorcycle licence. I later took my full car test in it. You could do that in those days. When eventually i purchased a normal 4 wheeler it seemed most odd to be driving a car sitting on one side rather than in the middle!

  • very nice!

  • @howarth004 Memories eh?> Motoring has certainly moved on since then!

  • @robmasterman Yes I do remember Bob and you having to get out and walk on a steep hill! The later model here was relatively civilised however having a 250cc two stroke twin engine.

  • I remember them Mike, no reverse just spin the wheel, It was a fun car.
