This fly will slay the fresh steelhead. Not only a higher water fly, but also anything close to saltwater. These fish have been feeding on squid, shrimp, and fish much bigger than 4" long. Nice tie. -(((('- .....release the wild ones.
@IMKINDOFABIGDEAL13 Yea it doesn't make sense to me. Most of the time more simple patterns, even as simple as a glo-bug dead drifted under an indicator with weight, are more effective than these types of flies. They have only worked for me in conditions with less visibility in the water.
Why should use Tube Flies? 1. You can use any hook (single, double, treble) with tube fly. When hook is broken you just change the new hook and Tube fly is still ok. Also when fish take the tube fly, hook is in the mouth and fly slide along the leader. Also you can use weighted tube fly getting your Fly more down, you don't need to play with led. We are using hook size 6 and 4 with this fly.
i dont understand why someone wouch chose a tube fly ofer just tying thiis directly onto a hook? im not trying to be contreversial i honestly just dont understand tube flies, can you please explain?
Nice fly but remember the presentation is always more important than the fly...
