Is this picture related to the aftermath of "Cloverfield"?

If so, they should definitely use this as a starting point for part 2. Then again, this animal looks torn to pieces. At the end of Cloverfield, they say, "Its still alive." So...logically...i dont think this is part of Cloverfield. Although it was on the Cloverfield page a while back in '08.
