  • You are right: "size you up" is a bad choice of words because usually this means physically. But you could assess a person's soul, given that the soul shows in how a person thinks and acts, and that was the intended idea.

  • ... I understand that the phrase is not used in its strictly physical sense, but I think it accurately captures important aspects of the model for relationships which you are espousing, in particular the speed at which the process is undertaken. These are important aspects that, on first glance, I disagreed with.

    Thinking about it over the past few days though, I can't say I'm so repulsed by your (Biblical) model anymore. Let's see what the Augustinians say, if they can forgive my pun.

    49:52 "A man would size you up...," this phrase has no meaning beyond the purely physical. I think that is a problem here.
