  • So you are just printing your own money in effect?

  • What are the legal requirements for a promissory note to be valid?

  • "Privileged information?" The students are sharp and keen to understand how things work and practice what they learn, but are there no teachers?

  • Hey Ben, don't you hate those guys that post before watching the whole video?

    Sorry Ben ;)

  • The promissory note is a time capsule debt/IOU to be paid at the discharge of the national debt if it is submitted correctly. Since there is no "money" in the system there had to be a remedy.

It is a weird world we live in but this is the way it has been for centuries.

  • I wonder what happens if the country is plunged into even further financial chaos and the currency starts to hyperinflate.. If it gets like hyperinflation episodes like Zimbabwe, Turkey, Argentina and Weimar Germany (in the 1920's) you'll be able to pay off whatever you owe them with the change from a loaf of bread!!

  • A Promissory Note either has to be paid with 'Legal Tender' on demand or on a specified date. I am not sure what you gain, except maybe time, by using a Promissory Note.

  • Nice one Ben looking forward to the results, shame about the recording but should be able to be sorted with some editing, there has to be somebody somewhere who is bofin enough to know how.
