BF3 - CITV / Guided Shells = Vehicular Slaughter

Kharg Island Conquest round in Main Battle Tank with CITV, Guided Shells, mounted gunner and an additional engineer.

I just unlocked the CITV, but when I locked on my target, it wouldn't fire. Please don't tell me that the main seat in the tank has to fire it when I lock on it? I earn the CITV and don't get too fire it, makes no sense. And if I'm in the main seat I can't use it. What's wrong with this picture?

CITV = Commander's Independant Thermal Viewer.... so no, you can't fire with a camera.

You help your team plenty by spotting everything and locking on air and ground vehicles. It's pretty clear in the unlock's description.

So you can take down flying vehicles with the guided shell only if they are designated by someone else???

That's right, Guided Shells can only lock on to flying vehicles if they were designated first. By default, Guided Shells lock on ground vehicles only.

ECM Jammer does temporarily prevents CITV from acquiring and break current locks though but unless the target breaks the line of sight before being re-acquired, which is not very long, they're toasted.

You can actually see the chopper's ECM breaking the CITV lock in the video at 7:00 :p

You can also achieve this kind of devastation with a 2 man squad. One guy needs to use the solfram and the other uses the javlin

@PlntPeace If you're using CITV to lock on then yes you need the driver to aquire a second lock with guided shells and he gets most of the points yes but its FTW

Keep guided shells equiped and now and again if you're lucky someone will laze the targets for you..

@PlntPeace lol if you are only thinking about kills go to CoD i dont care if i laser vehicles and let my friend fire the shell i just look it like this when we destroy the target there is one less treath for the team

@SuperPenguin831 Actually, it is kind of right, i mean, for example, in Noshar Canals, US has 2 Helicopters and the Russians have 1 Helicopter, obviously 2 Helicopter would just take over the other, so Russians need tanks, but the worse is that you need CITV Station or you are just "FUUUUUUUUUUUUU-" with the T-90, unless you just try to shoot it down with the default cannon (It worked two times to me :D)

@PistolPete074 Kharg Island, Was able to see for the first time what a powerful weapon the CITV can be when you have the right combination of players inside a tank. We destroyed 5 Helicopters (all kills) in an incredible decisive explosion. It was the second time I used it and now understand how it works. I am always a TEAM player. Always
