It is best to perform this static stretch for each leg after you foam roll each side.

The foam roll technique will enhance the stretch.

You can check to see if you really need this stretch by squatting on one leg or performing walking lunges in the mirror.

If at any point your knee moves medially (toward middle of body) you probably have adductor muscles which are not optimally lengthened.
