@Boris82much Everyone in office from that time forward knew that eventually it would catch up with us. You can't earn $10.00 and turn around and spend $100.00, forever. Politicians on both sides left it for the next guy elected to office. Bad.

Lastavius, The Tea Party (mostly made up of Independants) got started before President Bush left office, because of spending and because they wanted to make sure social security would not be chopped. And Obama lied about how well he knew Ayers. Much of it is documented. And as for the economy: Since the 1980s this country has spent more than it made.

Never has any party voted not to raise the debt ceiling until now. What's the difference....there is a person of mixed heritage in the White House. McConnell stated that his number one priority is to see that Obama is a One term President & the way to do that is by trashing the economy by not allowing a debt ceiling increase & then to try and blame Obama for the economic problems. You people are idiots. If McCain would have won....I would not have called him terrorist & communist for 4 more yrs.

And before you say that the republicans ultimately voted for it...remember...they wanted to the last damn minute creating much panic in the financial markets which led ultimately to the Standard and Poors downgrade of Americas credit from AAA to AA+. Its clear that to the republican party the rich are first, party 2nd, self 3rd...and the country last. Defeating Obama even at the risk of trashing the economy to make him look bad is at the top of their priorities aswell. I can't wait to vote.
