What do you do with your old plastic coffee can. Build a mini Hydroponics system of course.

A Hydroponics system built into a coffee can that sounds like a percolator while it's running, how funny is that?

The piece of air tube going into the home made lift pump is from a small aquarium air pump. The tube comming out of the side goes right into the center of the net pot. The solution splashes onto the Hydroton right next to the plant stem but not directly at it.

Build one of your own. It's a lot of fun!

i like that you did this so small as it just helps show the level of diversity available when growing plants of any kind, from small simple single plant systems all the way up to huge outdoor aquaponic systems that are incorporated into the landscaping

@Xxfades321xX Thank you. My hope is someone can build something small an inexpensive just to get into the hobby. Complicated and or expensive systems have their place to be sure but for most people those type of systems come later. You are right, I think the diversity of types and styles are fantastic. Giving people the confidence to built their own systems means we may see simply amazing systems in the future.

This is a neat little system. However, that tomato plant will be huge in a few weeks and will need a much larger container. I think I may try this with a standard 5 gallon bucket.
