I wasn't really into diesels in those days, except of course for ALCO PA's (honorary steam locomotives, we called them), and RS's and EMD E's and F's. Wish I'd listened to my friend Bob and shot more of the new stuff coming down the line. Oh well, too soon old, too late smart.

  • There 5 Euclid wheel tractor scrapers on a train. Those are those lime green things. They were made in Hudson,Ohio.

  • Yeah, that was just pure dumb luck, it was the Alco PA that got my attention.

  • very nice. I was 14 in 1967, and remember all those trains of northern IN and OH.

  • My Dad was a conductor in the 1960's for the NYC. He retired from Conrail in1991. We were fortunate enough to live less than fifty yards or so from the NYC tracks in Rushsylvania, OH, where we could run down to the tracks and wave to him as he would toss us some candy or even blow the caboose whistle for us. Your special video reminds me every time I watch it how proud I was and still am of my railroader Dad.

  • Nice

One thing I have to do!

The Athearn version of this caboose does not have a window over RADIO lol

  • Thank you, that was a nice video

  • ah yes, the erie lackwanna regeared some of their alco pa's for freight service when they started using mostly e units for passenger service in the early 60's, nice vid, liked the illinois central box car too:)

  • seeing this video reminds me of the trains that went through Xenia and Yellowsprings Ohio

  • Thank you for posting this. I love all the older vids and films that you have. I'm a young'un so it's good to see stuff before 1979. Keep them coming bro!

  • Nice To See Those Fallen Flags Railroads
