http://www.hardknock.tv Rakim talks to HardKnock.Tv's Nick Huff Barili about the reaction he received from putting out his last album "The Seventh Seal" and he addresses the media exaggerated beef with Nas. Ra goes on to let out the secret that he has been working with Stephen Marley (the generators of his trailer shut down and we lost all the light as soon as he makes announcement, definitely felt like their was a higher energy in the room). When asked if him and Nas could work together in the future, Rakim responds that through the Marley camp maybe him and Nas will do a song together. Lastly he says that if he were to do a song about one person like Nas did of him, Rakim would do it on Muhammad Ali.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of the interview with Rakim, as April Bombai talks to Ra about ghost writing, working on his next album already, performing at Rock the Bells and more.

  • @shagdad76 They did. Check out the song "Classic" by DJ Premier. It got Nas KRS & Rakim. Kanye is on the track but he just says random shit in between verses.

  • its easy to learn a style from studying a older mc that already did it and run with it, its not easy to create a style from nothing for all the considered best mcs they learned from the ones who created they style, BIG PUN -G=RAP style, Nas- Rakim style, JAY-Z- DADDY KANE STYLE the smooth player cat, so try to create something from nothing and see how hard that is, you wouldnt have these other MCS with them and the styles they created, and most of all MELLE MELL the most credit for an MC

  • @LHR90101 not even close Nas whole style is from studying RAKIM, try creating something from nothing, is easy to learn someones style and run with it, but try doing something like RAKIM,G-RAP and create a style from nothing,,,

  • @jb4real14 naw man Nas did not take it to another level he aint on Rakims level, its easy to learn someones style but try to create a style from nothing try to create something from nothing and see how hard that is,, trust Nas aint took nothing to another level at all, u might say that cause nas music probably came out for your generation

  • @themstar94 i didnt know clothes had age limits, its hip hop u dress how the fuck u want, what kind of gas as comment is that, this shit about the music who gives a fuck what he wearing

  • @2:45 I love it when you see the clarity and distinct laying down of the law when he says that he pulled Nas aside and said he's got love for him....BUT: "at the same time it's principle, man." Rakim is just so street, so low-key and hushed about out-of-school-talk, and that's why I love him.

  • you know you know you know :D

  • man somebody needs to get nas and rakim on an permier production.

  • @Graail7 Not to argue around and all that but Rakim was known as the Kid Wizard back in them days.

  • @TheJokessss rakim got his first album out in '87 with Eric B called "Paid In Full" and Krs One got his first album out also in '87 with BDP called "Criminal Minded" now idk if its true but Ra is rapping since 85 and Krs since 84..so...i dont tink your right about that..j cole hmm...song with drake..i dont realy like him..and Nas..well Nas(made a song with main source back in 91)but Nas..he is Gods son..Rakim's son
