dbell465 - in my view that wasn't a marked retrieve. The cocker that was working was quartering up ahead and the handler threw the dummy pretty craftily. In this instance I think the handler was training for a blind retrieve. In other words the guns would have stopped to wait for the dog to pick up a bird that had fallen behind the line.
I disagree you should never throw a mark behind you it teaches the dog it is ok to work behind the gunners the pup should always quarter in front of the gunners for obvious reasons but none the less good video
